Debt Sustainability Advisory Services
DRI has helped more than 35 countries to conduct Debt Sustainability Analysis, of both the HIPC/MDRI type (ie calculating the amount of debt relief needed and its impact on the long-term sustainability of debt) and the LIC-DSF and MIC-DSF types. This assistance has included conducting analyses for countries, but in general DRI prefers to build countries’ capacity to do their own analysis and discuss results with the Bretton Woods Institutions and the international community. For this purpose it has developed extensive training and capacity-building materials.
