Commercial Creditors
There are a number of ways in which developing countries can seek debt restructuring or relief from commercial creditors as follows:
- the forum of ‘London Club’ for negotiating restructuring of its commercial creditors, which is mainly used by middle and upper income countries,
- the World Bank’s debt reduction facility for low income countries,
- and under the HIPC initiative
To assist countries to maximise their debt restructuring or relief from commercial creditors, DFI has developed detailed training materials and manuals, conducted research and analysis and provides advisory services.
