Regional Events

Regional events supplement intensive country support by providing forums for experience sharing among policy makers and technical directors. These may be highly topical, for example addressing the impact of and policy responses to the global financial crisis. Or they may enable the sharing of experiences in implementing country projects, and identifying local solutions more generally.

Regional events also seek to ensure sustainability of capacity transfer on the national level. Training for trainers events are thus directed at building a wide pool of expertise. Those completing the training would be employed in building the capacity of their colleagues back home as the first priority, and within a wider regional context thereafter.
