Bilateral (OECD)

Many of the bilateral governments which are members of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) provide highly concessional resources to support the development and poverty reduction efforts of developing countries. Added together DAC member states provide about 80% of the world’s total official development assistance.

DFI has also prepared a Guide to the policies and procedures of bilateral OECD organisations, as listed below, to assist developing countries in choosing financing sources and other stakeholders in assessing the relative quality of different financing:

To help countries strengthen their capacity in analysing bilateral concessional resources as part of designing an external new financing strategy, DFI has developed detailed training materials and manuals and conducted research and analysis
