Non-Paris Club Bilateral Creditors

When developing countries negotiate debt relief from their Paris Club creditors, including under the HIPC initiative, they are also required to seek comparable terms from their non-Paris Club bilateral creditors. However these negotiations are on a creditor-by-creditor basis and so information on the relief or restructuring terms is not so readily available. As part of its work with developing countries, DFI has complied information on non-Paris Club debt relief provided under HIPC and on conducting debt conversions.

To assist countries to maximise their debt restructuring or relief from non-Paris Club creditors, DFI has developed detailed training materials and manuals, conducted research and analysis and provides advisory services.
