Accra High-Level Forum

DFI was the technical adviser to the developing country group negotiating the Accra Agenda for Action on Aid Effectiveness during 2008. This involved supporting the Government of Ghana to coordinate the positions of all the developing countries involved in the negotiations, at both technical and ministerial level, writing extensive background papers, position papers and briefing notes, providing technical support and suggestions for wording in all the negotiations, and helping to build coalitions with like-minded donors in the negotiations. Though the final results fell well short of the wishes of developing countries, some key parts of their positions were included in the final document as a result of this work. For a summary of the outcomes from the point of view of developing countries, please see our recent newsletter article.
